Today is the first full day of School and so far it’s been good. Zoey has only asked once when daddy and Hadley will be home, so we are off to a good start. Zoey Belle and I dropped Hadley off at 8 and we were home by 8:10. We cleaned, got laundry going, hung it out on the line, painted Zoey’s fingers and toes, and had lunch prep done all before 9:15am. It has been very quiet and calm around here. I am quickly realizing what a breeze it is to have one child at home with me and how much time we really are going to have on our hands. We’ve completely flipped from our relaxing, lazy summer days spent at the pool, to getting things done. During the summer we were rarely out of bed before 8 and usually not dressed until after 10. Sometimes we didn’t even bother getting dressed because there was no point when we were just going to head to the pool anyway. We had to kiss that schedule goodbye.
After playing outside for a bit this morning we came in to color and do a sticker book. We are waiting for Eric to get home so we can have lunch and then this afternoon we’ll run to the store so we can make rice crispy treats for an after school snack. I am also noticing how much the girls really played together during the day. Zoey is very good at entertaining herself so I am very lucky there, but it is also nice to have no fighting in the house. I am getting excited to see Hadley though and I think that the afternoon is going to become my favorite time of the day.
