Spinning around

31 Aug

After church tonight, the kids were begging to go to the park. They still needed to shower before bed, but we decided it wouldn’t hurt to hit it up for 10 minutes.

Hadley immediately went to the monkey bars and immediately became frustrated that her hands were sweaty and she couldn’t get across them. We redirected her and the girls spent the rest of the time on the merry-go-round.

First day of gymnastics

30 Aug

Zoey Belle went to her first gymnastics class today. She was very excited, especially since Lael Schwarz was in her class.

Afterward she told us that she loved it and that she did somersaults, cartwheels and stood on her head.

State Fair

Today Eric had to go to the state fair for work so Zoey Belle and I decided to tag along.  We enjoyed all of the petting zoo’s and the animal birthing center and we watched all of the marching bands. Afterwards, we had a picnic lunch and went to the skate park. Zoey enjoyed watching Eric skate and she slid down the ramps herself.  I only wish Hadley would have been with. Zoey did get her some candy though so I am sure she won’t be too disappointed.

Baseball game

We managed to make it through our first week of school.  Lucky for us we had a super fun weekend planned.  As soon as school was over we went to Grandma and Papa’s house.

Now we are waiting for a baseball game to start. The girls have never been to a game before so it should be fun.

Our First Day Alone.

Today is the first full day of School and so far it’s been good. Zoey has only asked once when daddy and Hadley will be home, so we are off to a good start. Zoey Belle and I dropped Hadley off at 8 and we were home by 8:10. We cleaned, got laundry going, hung it out on the line, painted Zoey’s fingers and toes, and had lunch prep done all before 9:15am. It has been very quiet and calm around here. I am quickly realizing what a breeze it is to have one child at home with me and how much time we really are going to have on our hands. We’ve completely flipped from our relaxing, lazy summer days spent at the pool, to getting things done. During the summer we were rarely out of bed before 8 and usually not dressed until after 10. Sometimes we didn’t even bother getting dressed because there was no point when we were just going to head to the pool anyway. We had to kiss that schedule goodbye.

After playing outside for a bit this morning we came in to color and do a sticker book. We are waiting for Eric to get home so we can have lunch and then this afternoon we’ll run to the store so we can make rice crispy treats for an after school snack. I am also noticing how much the girls really played together during the day. Zoey is very good at entertaining herself so I am very lucky there, but it is also nice to have no fighting in the house. I am getting excited to see Hadley though and I think that the afternoon is going to become my favorite time of the day.

First Day of School

16 Aug

This morning we got Hadley ready and off for her first day of kindergarten. She was really excited to go and I don’t think Lindsey cried… too much.
